The track season is officially over. The last meet was April 30 at South Fayate. They had six track meets in total, but only went to five since one got cancelled due to the weather. They only had one home track meet the whole season.
“We had a lot of people that were making PR’s this season, and I had an extremely motivated jumper that placed in almost every meet, which was very exciting,” Ms. Ashley Spencer, track coach, stated. The track season was one to remember. From the first practice to the final meet, our team worked hard, improved, and supported each other every step of the way.
Everyone came into the season with different goals, whether it was running a faster time, jumping farther, or simply finishing strong. By the end of the season, many athletes had achieved their goals and had beaten their own personal records.
“My favorite memory from this season is just getting to grow and meet new people,” Lucas Schomburg (7), track athlete, stated. There will be a lot of new athletes coming up from sixth grade to join the track team next year. The seventh graders will improve for next season, and the team will come back stronger than ever.
