Every year, the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) hosts the color run for grades five and six and the foam run for grades seven and eight. This lets the PTA give the students something to look forward to. Last year, it was full of colors and excitement, while bubbles blew along the fence line. This year, the event held even greater pleasures and laughs. The assembly in the gym gave an energetic mood to start the run.
“I think it’s a nice way to end the year,” Ms. Ashley Spencer, 6th grade math and science teacher, said. Even when some people disliked the color left on them, they got to enjoy the hour they could hang out with their friends. Some friendships may grow, while others die down like the last ember of a fire. The good friends you have should stay around and be able to deal with your energy with whatever you do, good or bad.
“I still have red coloring in my ear,” said Olivia Borkovic (6). Some people had color left on them for a few days, but it gradually came out. When some didn’t want to do the color run, they would usually sit down with a coffee or a Kona Ice to relax and chat. It was a time to hang out with friends, run around, and have fun.
“That was the best color run I’ve been to,” said Raelyn Kucel (5). The PTA wants to find more ways to give to students, like this. Sometimes it may prove hard to do that, but they persevere.
