This year’s 5-8 grade holiday dance was held in the middle school gym on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. Unlike the Halloween dance, this dance charged students $5 admission, which brought attendance down. This time, the dance was in the evening instead of right after school, also affecting how many students went to it. For example, if students wanted to go but didn’t have transportation, they would not be able to arrive at the school.
“I didn’t really care for it, it’s only 5$, if I could change it, it would be free,” Apollo Geary (6) said. There was a great selection of food, drinks, and a boba tea station that was very popular. By the end of the dance, most of the food and drinks were sold out, especially the boba tea.
“I only got a drink, but all of the food looked good.” Johnny Malsch (5) said.
There weren’t as many activities to do this time, so most of the kids were either sitting, walking around, talking with their friends, eating food, or just dancing to the music. During the dance, there was a DJ taking song requests, which a lot of kids used, leaving the DJ with a couple of filled papers with song requests. They also had a couple of party lights on the ground to light up the gym.
“It was good as it was [if I could change anything] I would probably see about getting the vending machines to work to get more snacks and drinks,” Hunter Hill (6) said.
