On November 3, the school hired a new temporary assistant to the superintendent serving until he starts as Superintendent and Business Manager on December 1. Dr. Jeff Beltz is a 1991 Freedom graduate and has slowly made his way back to Freedom after multiple different jobs and schools. With a degree in business, Dr. Beltz has secured over $1.25 million while still at Hopewell School District. Before Dr. Beltz became superintendent at Freedom, he had many different jobs, such as, most recently the superintendent at Hopewell Area School District, assistant superintendent at Moon Area School District, and finally principal at Beaver Area Middle School.
“There’s just something else about coming home, the personal side that you just want to take responsibility to give back to the community that gave so much to me,” Dr. Beltz said.
“I did not set out to be a superintendent; I actually have a few degrees in business and transitioned back into education. For me initially it was the coaching and have been grateful to have had the opportunity at Hopewell and now back at Freedom,” Dr. Beltz stated
Dr. Beltz has set a few minor goals for our school district. He really wants to learn as much as he can about our school. He also wants to see a lot of smiling student faces, and to see success.
“I don’t want them to be my goals, I want them to be organic from the community,” Beltz stated.
All in all, Dr. Beltz really would like to make a difference in our community and school. He enjoys his ability to keep people together and is hoping everyone can successfully work together.
