The Veterans Day Parade was Tuesday, November 11, at 10:30 am on Third Street in Beaver. The parade is organized by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 862.
Ms. Julia Lawrence, the band teacher, got to take the marching band in the parade. It was really cold that day.
“When you have instruments in the cold, it creates a lot of issues with tuning and functionality with the instruments,” Ms. Lawrence said.
The band played the Emblems of America and God Bless America in the parade. There were some other organizations in the parade as well, some of these are bands from around the area and the volunteer fire department from Freedom.
“I think it went well, it was really really cold which made things a little bit interesting, but there was a good amount of people there which was nice being it was super cold,” Ms Lawrence said.
The band is going to go to the Veterans Day parade again next year.
“It was good but it was freezing the entire time,” Elana Lehocky (7) said. “My favorite part about the parade was everyone being there.” Lehocky said.
