For those who don’t know what the Grammys are or what they are for, Grammy awards are for artists who impacted the year with their performances and music. The awards are presented in the United States by either The Recording Academy, formally the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, or the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Science.
This year, there were a total of 91 categories presented. Each category concludes with different types of awards. The “Big Four” or most popular Grammy awards are Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. The Record of the Year was presented to Miley Cirus for her song “Flowers.” This was Miley Cirus’s first-ever Grammy award.
