Kallie Brown, Trinity Vojtko, and Alyssa Bearer warm up before the girls volleyball game on Feb. 24 in the middle school gym.

The middle school girls’ seventh and eighth grade volleyball season has started. Their first game was on February 22 for both teams. The volleyball season will go through the end of March.  This year the coach for both the seventh and eighth grade team is Mr. George Bellinger.

Based on the coach and other players’ responses it is expected to be a “good” season. The seventh grade team will play 14 games and the eighth grade team will also play 14 games overall. The season will last up until March 7th when they have their last game at home against Lincoln Park.

Alyssa Bearer is playing volleyball for her second year and is in eighth grade.  She  thinks that this season for volleyball will be good and they will win more games than lose because of “ all the work we put into our time for practices.”

“I love being on the volleyball team because it is fun to play with your friends and good competition. It’s something to look forward to!” Bearer said.

Lacey Stewart is a player on the seventh grade team, for her, this is her first year playing volleyball. She thinks this season is going to go well.

“I think we’re going to be able to win more games and hopefully it will go well too. I also like being on the volleyball team one of my favorite things to do is the wave drill,” Stewart said.

If you would like to support the 7th-8th grade volleyball teams they have 12 upcoming games which are played at 3:30 p.m. in the middle school gym.
