Spring has sprung and you know what that means… baseball season! The Freedom Boys team is off to a strong start. The season should have started around March 26 but those games were canceled due to rain. The team’s record is at a solid 3-2 as of right now. The common rain cancellation is keeping the number of games that the team has played to a minimum. “ We were scheduled to play eleven games by now and we have only played five”, commented Noah Carney, 8th-grade outfielder. Besides the rain, the players have also  had to find a way to balance both the end of the year stress, such as PSSAs, and their very time demanding sport. “ You have to be able to think ahead. If practice is say five to seven then you need to think about when you will have time to study”, said Carney. Baseball not only teaches the players time management but it also plays a role in teaching athletes some lessons that they can use off of the field as well. “ In baseball, you’re always learning”, said Boden Hilliard, “You just have to keep pushing, and give it your all” exclaimed Hilliard. Baseball is doing good things for our student athletes and I’m sure the team will continue learning for the remainder of this great season.
