Soccer teams wrap up fall season
October 30, 2020
With fall on its way, the soccer season for Freedom is coming to a close. Both the boys and girls team had good seasons. The boys team was coached by John Mohrbacher. The boys ended their season with a 4-6 record. All of the games but one were lost by a goal.
“I thought the boys did really well with making connections on the field through their passing and defensive cover.” said Mohrbacher.
Jordan Delon and Camden Bruce both had 8 goals to lead the team. Bryson Deal, Jay Mohrbacher, and Anthony Rhychorcewicz all contributed goals. The boys are going to come back next year with the loss of Jordan Delon, Camden Bruce, Brodie Smith, Christopher Denkovich, and Tommy Ward. Next season the boys are ready to improve.
The girls team was coached by Chris Keller.
“I think the girls did a really nice job overall, and there was a lot of great conversation going on.” said Keller. The girls record was 2-4-1 with a tie in the last game.
“I know the girls are going to keep getting better and better!” said Keller. The girls team is also going to lose many eighth graders next season.
“Although I thought we did a really nice job, one thing we could improve on would be that we had a lack of field vision. There were times where we had an open pass but the girls didn’t take that opportunity.” stated Keller. All of Freedom is excited for next season.
Both the boys and girls had a positive season and are ready to come back stronger than ever!
