The school has been having some cleaning problems lately and Mr. Griffith, middle school principal, wants to resolve the problem. The school has recently added cleaning stations in the cafeteria that allow students to clean up their mess, whether it was an accident or not.
During a press conference with the Bulldog Barker staff and the principal, Mr. Griffith commented on how when the students go outside during lunch, he always has to pick up garbage left on the football field. He also said he likes having the students out on the field and letting them have some free time, but he doesn’t like the fact that he always sees garbage lying out on the turf or even around the school. He said he doesn’t want to take away the privilege that he gave the students of going outside, but he doesn’t want to see this happening.
This encourages the students to pick up the garbage lying on the ground instead of walking right past it. Not only does it make the school look bad because it looks disgusting from all the trash, but it also makes the students look bad because it shows that they aren’t organized and they don’t care for the environment of the school. There are trash cans located in the classrooms, cafeteria, and outside on the track, so whenever you see plastic or any type of trash just on the ground pick it up and throw it away.
The cleaning stations in the cafeteria provide the students with a broom and dustpan, a rag and bucket, and a mop and paper towels. They have been very helpful to the students whenever they have an accidental spill or have a mess to clean up.
