Some major changes are going on in the cafeteria. Freedom has a new food service director, Miss Natalie Roser, and she has made some menu changes. Not all of the lunches have changed, but a few of the changes include the fact that the food is now made in the cafeteria. A few of the foods that stayed are mac & cheese and pizza. But, there are still some new foods that include pork quesadillas, BBQ rib sandwiches, and pierogies.
“I’m not really a fan of them, they just taste different.” Juliana Uhler, sixth grade student said.
The breakfast has also been changed so that it’s the same every day. The breakfast is assorted cereal with belly bears, a graham cracker cookie, but the side changes daily.
One thing has changed to all the food and that is all food is made from real ingredients, such as whole grain products and lean protein. Before, all of the food was prepackaged or frozen. A lot of kids wonder why they have changed the menu.
“The main reason we changed the menu is because the food just isn’t healthy,” Miss Roser, food service director, said.
