The basketball team has had an impressive season this year, with a record of 10-4 in eighth grade and the eighth-grade team has improved considerably compared to previous years.
“I think overall we were better than all other years we played because our star player, Chase Andrews, is a dawg,” Aiden Komlos, eighth grader, said regarding this year’s season. Chase Andrews plays as a point guard, which is the player that controls the center.
“One thing that is truly evident is the fact that these young men were truly a team. They won and lost together. They celebrated after a win and consoled each other with a loss. It was truly a privilege to coach them,” basketball coach Terry Fullen said.
“The season was a tough one. We did not win a game but we showed a lot of improvement and growth. We actually had a lot of fun and really improved our defensive intensity. I have been coaching basketball on and off for the past 20 years – each team has its own sets of challenges – I still enjoy the challenges. This season in spite of its competitive outcome was still enjoyable.” John Mohrbacher, basketball coach said.
