This year, the fifth and sixth-grade wing has been having issues with the stench in the hallways and classrooms. This has been driving kids’ noses up in disgust. The biggest cause of this issue is hygiene problems among middle schoolers. Most students should be concerned with their hygiene because it can affect their interactions with their friends and teachers.
Experts agree that personal hygiene for middle schoolers includes: showering and washing your hair, using deodorant, wearing clean clothes, brushing your teeth and hair, and even wearing perfume or cologne. If you don’t do these things, your body will produce an odor, which can quickly spread in crowded places like school hallways or classrooms. This can affect the way students learn and the way teachers teach.
The stink in the hallway is most likely caused by pet odors, smoke, or even sweat. To prevent this from happening the students can take a shower at their house, and put clean clothes or shoes up high so if they have a pet, they can’t reach it. Did you know that only 58% of female students wash their hands and only 48% of male students wash their hands? 33% of those female students use soap. and 8% of those male students use soap. This can lead to germs going throughout the school, which makes people sick and dirty.
