The Grammy Awards were held on Feb. 3 to reflect the winners from the 2025 Grammys. The Album winner of this year is Beyonce with “Cowboy Carter”. She finally won the coveted Album of the Year award at the 2025 Grammys after being shut out the last four times she was nominated. The other nominees for Album of the Year were Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Jacob Collier, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and Andre 3000. Beyonce didn’t just win Album of the Year but also won Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
There are many more awards that people won but the most popular awards won are Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Rap Song were won by Kendrick Lamar. He won with his song “Not Like Us.” Kendrick Lamar also had a performance at this year’s Super Bowl. The winner of Best New Artist was Chappel Roan. Sabrina Carpenter won Best Pop Solo Performance with her song called “Espresso.”
The Grammy Awards were first presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, NARAS, in Los Angeles in 1959. Only 28 prizes were given then. The number of awards increased as musical genres emerged.
The Grammys is a series of awards presented annually in the United States by the NARAS. Winners are selected from more than 25 fields, which covers such genres as pop, rock, rap, country, classical, gospel, and jazz. As well as production and postproduction work, including packaging and album notes. Four general awards are given and in total, more than 75 awards are presented. Entries are submitted by record companies, as well as members of the academy, and are reviewed to determine eligibility and category placement. The winners are announced during a televised ceremony.
