With the holiday season come winter breaks, and with the end of winter breaks come sleepy people. Turning your brain off and sleeping in is great, but it can have some downsides.
According to Harvard Health and Harvard University, sleeping too much can cause fatigue, more sleepiness, and lack of concentration. This may show during school after the break, especially since the students had an extended break this year. But when do these students start slacking?
“I think the first day when students come back[is the hardest], but it’s a needed break,” Mrs. Tina Strati, sixth-grade teacher, stated. “I normally see a lack of productivity with students who did not do anything over break.”
It’s great to have a break, especially with the holiday stress. However, when the break is too long, you can start to forget what you learned.
