It’s the season for fall sports including cross country, coach Ms. Ashley Spencer says “The Cross Country season is going wonderfully!” Coach Spencer also states , “We have five varsity runners and seven middle school runners, and I cannot wait to see the team grow even more next year! The community we have grown this season is a joy to be a part of. Each athlete has made progress on their race times and has grown so much already.”
Coach Spencer says, “I feel that by adding middle schoolers into the mix, we have brought life into the program. They all cheer for each other during their races and encourage each other to push harder each practice. I really think the athletes truly enjoy the practices and meets even though it is hard work. Of course, there are days when they are tired or want to take it easy, but they always show up ready to roll. There were a few hiccups throughout the season, but I really would not change a thing. I hope the athletes feel the same!”
Nolan Andrews says his season went “pretty good” and “it’s fun”, Andrews also said that “there could be more boys.”
Kylie Dambach is also a part of the cross country team, states that “It was good, I got a new PR and got better at different parts of the running process, I feel about good about my season I think the coaches helped a lot with mine and the others on the teams’ performance and skill.” Dambach also says “I think she thinks the season went well with lots of new PR’s and overall it was a successful season with the XC team growing and adding more members. Not everything worked out well and we all got better, my favorite part was going to the meets and meeting new people and the memories I made with all of my friends and the coaches.”
