This year the fall dance was held on Friday, Oct. 11 in the middle school gym. It took place right after school until 4:30 p.m. A good amount of people showed up, but not quite as many as some of the other dances that have been held at the school. A new change we saw this year was that students had access to go outside and play four square, four square volleyball, and corn hole. Many people participated in these activities. There were also many people dressed up regardless of the fact that it wasn’t a Halloween dance.
“I didn’t think it should have been right after school, because then a lot of people couldn’t go to the dance. It was very different but I liked the idea of going outside. I also would not go to another dance right after school,” Jerah Shiring, seventh grade student, said.
“I think having the dance after school was a good idea because there were games to play for the kids that didn’t want to be inside. I think there were still a good amount of kids at the dance. I really liked the dance this year because it was after school and there were a lot of different things you could do,” Presley Malsch, seventh grade student stated.
Despite some of the mixed reactions to the dance, many people still attended to see what it would be like. There were also many more messes than we usually have. There were at least two times that drinks were spilled on the gym floor, causing people to fall and slide multiple times before it was cleaned.
