As most of us know there have been many Dollar Generals popping up all over Beaver County. While they are harmless, there are very many people infuriated by this. There is currently speculation of a Dollar General across the road from Little Super in New Sewickley. While they are harmless stores with some good qualities, they have been very close with some having such little distance as 0.2 miles, (1056 feet) which isn’t very far at all. Although it is nice to have all these stores to be able to go to, many people throughout Beaver County are outraged and wish some of the places that were taken over were still there instead.  While most people feel agitated by this issue, some people do like the convenience other than driving all the way to a supermarket to buy a few things.  

According to New Orleans Public Radio, the reason so many stores are being built is because every new store means more profit for the company. Through doing this they have gained almost $2 billion within less than 20 years.  While there are many stores, there is an issue when it comes to the company’s workers. They don’t have enough workers for the amount of stores. Most people won’t work at Dollar General because of poor wages. With these staff issues, the stores have gotten messy at most locations.

  The state with the most Dollar General stores is Texas with there being 1,834 throughout the state, but it also is a big state which makes this reasonable.

Little Super flooded recently as well and this was due to the fact that the Dollar General being built  was uphill and all water went into Little Super which is just one of the first bad things this store could do to Little Super. The Dollar General fixed this problem by adding in flooding systems so it wasn’t such an issue.
