As most of us know, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Taylor Swift, a pop music star, are dating. Swift has gotten a lot of backlash this football season while dating the NFL Kansas City Chiefs tight end. While many people are having the debate on if she should be there, there is an issue when it comes to the Super Bowl this year. Swift had four Eras Tour concerts in Japan the night before the Superbowl. It was being debated if she would go, the flight landed in Las Vegas at around 3:30 PM and the NFL Superbowl began at 6:30 pm. Without any interruptions during the process, it was possible that she would be there.
Loads of girls of all ages are getting interested in football because Swift is dating Kelce, making them want to go to games or watch just to go see their idol, and we were sure to see Swifties from all over at the Superbowl. Tons of people who love football are also upset now that all the Chiefs revolve around Swift. Kelce has also been attending the Eras tour put on by Swift. He has been sitting with her parents during concerts and he seems to be enjoying watching her perform as much as she does him. While it is being debated if Swift should be at the games, let’s see what some students have to say.
“I do think that Taylor Swift should be allowed to go support him and he is most likely at all of her concerts if not most of so it is only fair if she is there, but along with that yes it is cool to see her but you should go to the game to watch the game not just to see Taylor and if you want to see her so bad go to one of her concerts or events. It would just be weird if she didn’t go if he supports her and also the other way around,” Temperance Max, sixth grader, said.
Since the couple got together, the NFL has gained around 331 million dollars from Swifties buying tickets and merchandise. This was the 58th annual Super Bowl this season. The Superbowl performance was being speculated to be performed by Swift but she has confirmed she was not performing. The performance this year was performed by musical artist Usher with some of his hit songs.
Many people were happy to see the Chiefs win because of Swift, while others were happy that the team she was rooting for won. The Chiefs won with 3 seconds left on the overtime clock giving them the win. There were 61.2 thousand people at the Superbowl and it is estimated that 51% of these people were Swifties.
