In 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought for women to have rights for many years, which took place in Santa Rosa, California.

Every March, people from all around the U.S celebrate Women’s History Month. They celebrate the justice, rights, opportunities and achievements that women have fought for, for years. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the first ever woman to start fighting for rights. Susan B. Anthony eventually joined Elizabeth to fight for all equal rights. This all started in the month of March in 1987, but she started fighting around 1848 in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Over the next several years, other cities decided to join Santa Monica to celebrate Women’s History Month. Just like PA, we also joined Santa Monica to celebrate Women’s History Month because we honor and respect women.

Mrs. Stewart, the Prevention Specialist, stated, “We celebrate Women’s History Month to honor the women in history and how they have created many paths for us.” In my opinion, I agree because women paid off hard work just for us women to have equal rights that men have.
