The middle school wrestling team is up and running full speed ahead. Riley Henley, who has been wrestling for nine years now, states that he is excited for the season because “ I like to wrestle and I like to throw kids to the mat.” The team lost some very good wrestlers this year since they are now up at the high school but are excited about the new team members they get to share the season with this year. So far the season has been going decent with four wins for the team and six losses. Individually, the team agrees that Zachery Shiring, Brayden Reynolds, Thomas Henry have been doing exceptionally well this season.

The MAC wrestling tournament went very well for this team, with Riley Henley making his first pin of the season. Gavin Chambers also had his first win. It may not have been the best tournament for all the team members but most had a very good experience.

An interesting fact about the Freedom Wrestling Team is that the team accepts wrestlers from surrounding schools such as New Brighton that do not have a wrestling team so in turn the team will be gaining  Dominic Pasquale, a 9th grade wrestler from New Brighton Middle School.

This wrestling season has had its ups and downs but the wrestlers sure had fun.
