The wood shop is changing to a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) lab to meet the needs of the students. Everything is changing from the lessons to the materials being used. There are only technology related components that are being used in the lessons.

Mrs. Marie Dohanich and Mrs. Tion Piehler from the technology department are helping with the changes that are being made. The changes are hoping to be completed by the start of the next school year. The biggest change being made is that the skills students are learning will be more S.T.E.A.M. related. There will be no more wood shop related lessons and more technology. For example, fifth grade will be learning photo editing.

The money being used to buy the new equipment came from a grant or was saved up for the technology. The school saw a good place for change and to try something new with support from other people.
